Seattle!

We had a GREAT time in Seattle. We relished the cool weather for a week and actually brought sunshine for 6 out of the 7 days we were there! The amount of "green" from the trees and grass was amazing for us to see.

Our good friend from college, Andrea, very kindly took the whole week off to visit with us and show us the sites. It was also really nice for me to have an extra pair of eyes and hands for Amelia's two-year old adventuresome spirit!

We went to the zoo, children's museum, the Space Needle, on a "Duck" tour, Flight Museum, Pike's Place, Science center, harbor cruise, the amazing aquarium and so much more. We also ate a fair dent in Seattle's amazing array of food choices! Amelia enjoyed the crab the most. Mommy liked the Thai food and Daddy enjoyed fresh cheese curds, aka "squeaky cheese"!

Amelia - She had three "favorite" parts. First was the amphibious vehicle Duck tour where Amelia's eyes got HUGE when the Duck drove into the water and then out of the water and onto land 20 minutes later! Next was Amelia's special "audience" with a group of sea otters who were being feed by trainers. One trainer signaled an otter to come and say "hi" to Amelia which it did! Finally, there was the flight museum. We may have a future pilot or aerospace engineer on our hands judging from her excitement while sitting in the cockpits and looking at the different airplanes!

Mommy - Mommy always enjoys Pike's Place because of the amazing spread of goods, foods, and crafts. Tasting different types of cuisine every night was a lot of fun too! Getting to spend a week with just Amelia and Buddy in the company of our good friends was the biggest enjoyment of course!

Daddy - Daddy really liked the Flight Museum also. The availability of fish and chips and Ivar's clam chowder on every corner was a big plus too!

We have a lot of photos from our trip which you can see at http://www.evers.smugmug.com/

What a fun blog. I especially think it is funny that you think you're house will be cleaner when you are not working. I thought the same thing... but then realized that I'd have a two year old following me around to take everything out just as quickly as I can put it away. Oh well... a lived in house will have to do. Hope you are feeling WONDERFUL... let's hit the pool with the munchkins soon. :)
