Think Pink!

Baby - Our sonogram was today and there is another blond curly-haired, blue eyed Evers' girl on the way! Only a little unsettling because this pregnancy has been SOOOO different I was convinced it was a boy. Amelia will be a great big sister and show her little sister the ropes or "how to manipulate Mommy and Daddy just so". Also, the "well you don't have to buy any new clothes" thing is already starting to annoy me although it is very true. We are hoping for a bigger baby as Amelia's 6 lbs. 1 ounce was a wee bit small and thus a little scary. A seven pounder that doesn't have to wear premie clothing would be a great blessing, maybe even a fat roll or two!

Amelia - is becoming more expressive every day and we THANKFULLY are understanding her more and more. It is actually the short sentences (two or three words) that are the most clear. She is also at the stage where she can hear a word once and immediately pick it and the associated object or action up - again big relief. The tempertantrums have thus minimized as the communication becomes clearer. However, the independence is continuing to assert itself stronger every day. At this point unless it is dangerous (oven), hazardous (opening the front door), wrong (hitting the dogs) or destructive (coloring the hallway), Amelia gets to do most of what she likes. She still has to eat, nap and go to bed at fairly regular times and knock on wood has never been a difficult wee one in those aspects!

Melissa - We are recovering from the flu last week. Amelia and I were among the 60% of people whom the flu vaccine did nothing! I was in bed all last week on antihistamines to sleep (only thing I could take being pregnant other than Tylenol which is less effective than water). Amelia then developed the requisite runny nose which I didn't sweat until the 103 degree fever popped up Saturday as I was finally feeling better! Needless to say we are better now although trying to get our GI systems to cooperate once more.

Buddy - Buddy enjoyed taking Mommy and Amelia to the Renaissance Fair (a.k.a "Worst Slaughter of English Accents and Over-abundance of Cleavage" Fair) this past Saturday. We spent the day with Buddy's parents, brother and sister. We had the required roasted turkey leg which Buddy had to admit he is no longer able to finish on his own :( It was a really nice day outside and we enjoyed sharing it with the relatives and beer! Buddy has also been raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters as he is bowling in the "Bowl for Kid's Sake" program March 1st. To date he has raised $145 - $20 over his personal goal! Thanks to friends and family who donated!

Buddy also wanted to post some pictures of Amelia skiing or rather riding on her first chairlift earlier this month! It was a great adventure with Grandma and Daddy. Mommy followed behind on another chair.

Hey!
Great pics of the chair lift - how exciting. Glad you enjoyed the Ren Fest - I found pictures from when we all went years ago - God we're getting old quick! Hope you're feeling better
